Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aide

WHAT EXACTLY CAN I EXPECT FROM THE NURSING ASSISTANT/HOME HEALTH AIDE PROGRAM
Florida Vocational Institute’s Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aide program is designed to offer students a clear understanding of all aspects of long term patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will learn everything from geriatric and rehabilitative care to how to perform CPR on patients. As a nursing assistant/home health aide, your job is to provide patient with bedside care, assist in activities of daily living, and monitor patient’s overall health. You will participate in bathing, grooming, and feeding your patients as well as cleaning their homes in able to provide a sanitary, healthy environment. Our program will properly prepare you to handle all these tasks effortlessly.

WHAT KIND OF JOB CAN I GET AS A GRADUATE?
Our Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aide program provides students with the knowledge and training to become an entry level professional at a nursing home or assisted living facility. DO I NEED TO BE CERTIFIED?
No, you do not need to be certified, but Florida Vocational Institute strongly advises all of our students to take the nursing assistant certification exam (CNA) and home health aide certification exam (HHA), which we administer at our learning facility.
